Day 1 Death Valley Highlights Las Vegas to Death Valley. The tube itself is easily reachable by a ladder, and once inside you’ll find the tube beautifully lit up by holes in the rock ceiling.Note that to get to the trail you’ll have to drive about 15 miles from the Kelso depot, and then another 5 miles down an unmarked road. The rest of these top sights are in the northern part of Death Valley, reached by driving on CA Hwy 190 north from Furnace Creek.
