Arthur is aiding in his quest by the mysterious mute, Dolphin, his one time trusted advisor Volko, and longtime foe King Shark.
No but really...that happens.
It makes perfect sense--for all parts of the plot, and all aspects of both her and Aquaman's characters. 4: UNDERWORLD! (in a positive way, of course)What the fckn hell with the art of Riccardo Federici and Sunny Gho!!!!!! I feel that the New 52 Dc Comics is giving us great new takes on characters like Aquaman and Wonder Woman so that there is more to this comic universe thaThere is a lot going on in this volume of the hit "Aquaman" series. About Aquaman Vol. Once, Aquaman was King of Atlantis–but his crown was stripped from him and given to Corum Rath.
I also loved that we still have the final showdown between Rath and Aquaman to look forward to in the next volume--that has been building for a long time, and I am ready to see it finally culminate. Maybe it's about him being blond, I don't know but Aquaman is awesome.I am pleasantly surprised, this change in tone is quite good.I am pleasantly surprised, this change in tone is quite good.Of course most of us knew that the quality would take a bit o a hit after Geoff John's took his leave after the last volume. Trivia.
I actually enjoyed some of story arcs quick and action packed. The Black Mercy is one of the most fascinating elements of the DC Universe--ever since it was first introduced in "For the Man Who Has Everything," it has been an excellent tool to dive into the innermost desires and dreams of our main characters... often with heartbreaking results. BOOOOOORING.I'm not real happy about the author change but I still enjoyed this. I really enjoyed this story arc. The story cemented for me the idea that Mera and Arthur are without a doubt the DC Universe's best couple. I'm not sure if I will read the next volume. The biggest problem is not his take on the characters, which is fine, I guess. So now Aquaman is king and the next big adventure begins?

(Wonder Woman helped. Oh High School Reunion! I especially loved the high school reunion part of the story. OH SNAP CRACKLE AND A BIT OF POP! We finally finish up the ending with Aquaman going head to head with Swamp Thing! We’d love your help. So it's not much of a surprise that I was right, but it's not thrown out to the dogs just yet!Geoff Johns had done a wonderful job during his Aquaman run. There was a completely separate story that, while good, still feels a bit weird for being included.
He essentially did the same thing he had done with Green Lantern, making the character far more legitimate and serious, while really expanding on the characters individual mythology.I was nervous going into this first volume without Geoff Johns, but it was pretty good. Its crossover stories with Greek creatures, Wonder Woman, and the Swamp Thing may be an interesting story to tell, but Jeff Parker falls short of writing it good. But there was good attention paid to Mera.
The comic art is like a still-life and comes across more realistic similar to baroque paintings. Where as this run the plot seems done by two issues then it's something else like one minute it's wonder woman's brother, and then aquaman at his high school reunion (like come on he's not bruce wayne!) So now Aquaman is king and the next big adventure begins?
The stand-out issue, for me, though, was the annual at the end. I know it had its fans, but The Others and the rest of the stories ruined for me what was a decent relaunch. I actually enjoyed some of story arcs quick and action packed. Published I love the Game of Thrones approach to the book and the wilder character designs giving the book more of an alien, underwater look.

In this volume Aquaman teams up with the underground resistance as well as mutated criminals to lead an open rebellion against King Rath. 1401280692
Overall Jeff Parker is no Geoff Johns but this wasn't bad. The story kept me engage all the way until the end.
