| You really have to see the first Barbershop (2002) to appreciate this sequel, but overall I found this sequel to be the better of the two movies. Sean Patrick Thomas. Manages to throw away everything that made the first film so good. When their house is robbed on Christmas Eve they team up to track the robber down.

It's the kind of set-piece ensemble that has proven immensely successful as a sitcom formula but tends to struggle to meet the demands of a movie. 1:45 Owner Calvin Palmer (Ice Cube) tries to keep his family business alive in order to pass it on to his own son one day. Though Calvin gives a passionate speech about the legislation helping the region to earn money at the cost of its soul and the community, the council still unanimously votes to approve the legislation and move forward with the project. | Not as good as the original, but I still loved it.

Inane banter soon takes over and is not helped by an unlikely, flashback-heavy subplot about Eddie (Cedric the Entertainer) and a lost love. |
