The trail conditions are awesome, and the views in my opinion or second to none! We are overweight flatlander and with persistence and taking breaks, we had no issues with this hike at all. We were able to drive our 4x4 truck right to the trailhead. After that we saw only 2 people on the trail the rest of the ascent and the entire descent. Jackson Peak 13,523 feet (4,122 m) is the eighth-highest peak in the U.S. state of Wyoming and the seventh-highest in the Wind River Range.The Bull Lake Glacier is located immediately north and east of the mountain. I've used them 4 times. It happens to be the 7th highest mountain in the Wind Rivers.
There is only one minor water crossing right before you reach Goodwin Lake. About 3 miles to the lake.
It is located in between Fremont Peak to the northwest and Indian Pass to the southeast. The Jackson Peak hike across the valley from the Teton Range is a short drive from Jackson and gets you above 10,000 feet in just a few hours.This hike can easily be done in a day, or you can extend your trip and camp at Goodwin Lake below the summit. maybe give it a couple weeks before going if you want dry feet

If you want to catch wildflowers at their prime, mid-July through early August is usually the best time.Temperatures are at their warmest in July and August, but you still want to make sure to pack warmer layers because it can get chilly above treeline even in mid-summer, especially if there is wind.Snow tends to linger into late June, and in heavy snow years early July, around Goodwin Lake and on portions of the slopes up Jackson Peak. Not to go unmentioned... the actual hike itself was beautiful. Jackson Peak Group LLC is a Wyoming Domestic Limited-Liability Company filed on January 2, 2018.

This section is another wildflower hot spot from mid July through early/mid August.About one mile after leaving the shore of Goodwin Lake, you’ll reach a marked trail intersection and take a right toward the trail heading up Jackson Peak.The trail will steepen from this point forward, but the views into the heart of the Gros Ventre Range are spectacular.From the trail junction, the remainder of the trail gains about 800 feet over 0.8 miles to the summit of Jackson Peak.Take a well-earned break upon reaching the summit and enjoy the expansive views of the Jackson Hole Valley and the Teton Range. Jackson Peak is most easily approached from Indian Basin starting from Elkhart Park trailhead. Hopefully will do this trail again later and make it to the top.Hiked this June 30, 2018–beautiful wildflowers but still a decent amount of snow to get to the summit.

There is alpine lake fishing & chilling, close to town of Jackson (25 min drive) and a 10,741 ft summit elevation. The peak of fall colors in the Teton Range of Wyoming varies … For backpacking, Goodwin Lake makes for an excellent overnight destination.
The trail is primarily used for hiking and is best used from May until October. We were not able to summit due to high snow.
Jackson is the principal town of the Jackson, WY-ID Micropolitan Statistical Area, which includes Teton County in Wyoming and Teton County in Idaho. Beginning is steep through fields and some forest, then mostly moderate forest trails.
Another positive, dogs allowed and they can swim in Goodwin Lake.made it to the trail split and then some bad looking weather scared us. ft. single-family home is a 4 bed, 7.0 bath property. Absolutely do this hike with your dogs if you are in Jackson Hole, it is so worth it!

You will pass onto the alpine level, so no more trees. Just look at the attached pic--my young daughter will never forget the great day we shared with Hole Hiking!
