Fifteen was also dropped because Sybase wanted to align several product versions with 16, so SQL Anywhere directly jumped from 12 to 16. 2013: Version 16 released Version 13 and 14 were skipped for cultural reasons (13 is bad luck in US and 14 in China).

Is there a cost involved with upgrading to 17 if the organization has a maintenance and support contract with SAP for SQL Anywhere?I can't answer two and three for you (not knowing your support contract – but our contracts do include access to the newest versions), but here's a description of the different support stati (active/limited/archived) for SQL Anywhere versions (can't provide that as link as the editor does not accept the correct URL...)Basically, it means if you do not upgrade to v17, you won't get any more bugfixes for v16.Given that you are using 16.0.0.1691, which is a rather old v16 build (the latest on Windows is 16.0.0.2614, AFAIK), I can't tell whether that has relevant implications for you or not. SQL Anywhere's future.Nevertheless, I would be really happy if SAP would not let its customers answer such kind of questions, some official statements now and then would be helpful...Using 16.0.0.2043 ( EOL 12/31/2018 ), I see dbinit now says "the Evaluation Period has Expired", so I can't create a new dbIs this possible ? Under SAP, these dates are published in a product availability matrix (PAM) to serve as notice. Is there a version 18 or 20 planned?
