Lots of bugs at the top but I had bug spray on and wasn't bothered in shorts and a t shirt.
I saw a black corvette nearly kill someone. Hard to pee because there are fire ants everywhere. There are a few false peaks, but as the main climb is only a mile it didn't feel too bad. •I did it alone, but would NOT recommend that unless you’re very experienced and comfortable with no service etc.
There are several false summits.
There are plenty of turnouts to pull to the side and let the buttheads pass.
Saw a few couples hiking on my way up and 2 couples on my way down. We parked at 5:15. Once you’re on top you can see most of the Los Angeles basin the by the sea.And it is a challenging hike. Thank you to whoever made them! Descent was a breeze compared to the never-ending scramble for the peak in the afternoon heat. Views were nice but I don’t think this is a trail I’d recommend to friends. Cute hand-painted signs at the top.
Saw a couple danger noodles in the first mile of the trail. For me this was about a 4 hr hike. Please leave it there for others to enjoy as well. It felt eerie, but if you like that it’s perfect. It felt eerie, but if you like that it’s perfect.

Last mile: a series of scrambles mixed in w brief respites of flat, rocky false peaks w gorgeous views. Excluding lunch break, we finished under 4 hours. So please drive with caution and slow down.
First 2.5 mi up: super easy near-level mountain traverse. The last mile up the ridge to the peak is completely exposed and much more difficult, but the trail is in good condition and pretty clearly marked.
