There is alot of things that could cause a misfire,mass air flow sensor could be dirty or need replaced.Best bet is to take to someone with computer that can read what all sensors are doing in vehicle. If the lights are on, their diagnostic computer should tell what is possibly wrong, I would take it to another shop and get another opinion, just for safety.
This can be anything if goes to hot then have it checked for a head gasket problem. This is the traction control system which is now off.
